Three amazing things about Kingston University
Three amazing things about my university and why I love my life here.
My course:
I’ve always had an interest in genetics and evolutionary science and using the tools to benefit our healthcare. In Kingston university, I was able to specialise in Genetics and Molecular biology, where I learned about CRISPR, personalised medicine, and statistics. And as our collective knowledge for genetics advanced, there is now insurmountable amount of data way too big for a human to sort through so now all biotech companies want someone who can work with aid of computer programs such as R programming so our course has heavily invested in building more computer labs and hiring professors with the skill.

The ability to book a library study room:
There are many group projects in my course, and it’s so useful to have the ability to book a room and crank the project out instead of having to coordinate and meet at a cafe or something. And it’s not just for group projects, me and my friends have booked a room for final prep, a quiet place for interviews, D&D and a movie night! we microwaved some popcorn at the new refreshment kitchen downstairs, so it was a fantastic night. https://www.kingston.ac.uk/experience/our-campuses/library-and-learning-services
Easy access to great food:
On Penryn Road campus there are many places to get amazing food, such as the canteen, the two cafes, and the nearby Sainsbury. And many times, a year, Kingston hosts events that give away tote bags designed by our brilliant students, and inside the tote bags, there is often a coupon book for food! A few times a year there’s a food truck giving away free foods to students as well! And all of our food locations offer Halal food, Vegan/Veggie, and allergy free foods to make sure our friends with dietary restrictions could enjoy delicious meals as well! What part of university life is the most appealing? What do you look forward to the most?
