I failed year 12

Hello, so recently I was doing bio chem and psychology but I received terrible grades (DDC) at the end of the year and my school is suggesting I should start yr12 again but with btecs or leave. I reminded them that my gsces were decent (778888568) and if I’d retake the year I’d rather do other alevels I’m more comfortable with (as my mom forced me to take the stem route at the start) but they still disagreed. Please can you guys help find me sixthforms in west London

Is there anything specific you want to do after A-levels or are there specific subjects you want to do that aren't in the STEM route? I would recommend researching local sixth forms yourself because you know yourself best and will be able to identify the best fit for you better than anyone on here.

heyy, i'm also retaking year 12 due to bad grades and i just wanted to say that you should absolutely find a different school that will allow you to take the a-levels that YOU want to do. i'm not from west london so i can't really give good advice on sixth forms, but have you tried looking for 16-19 colleges that do a-levels? also, most sixth forms/colleges that aren't connected to a secondary school are likely to accept you, as long as they're non-selective (i.e. grammar schools). try emailing as many local sixth forms/colleges as you can before enrolment (late august), i'm sure many would be happy to take you as you have good gcse grades! 🙂

Thank you so much I applied shortly after I made this post to 2 colleges near my house and I got accepted. Hopefully retaking yr 12 goes better for the both us!
