Sfe level 5 nvq and pla

Hi.

I'm wondering if anyone can help. I looked at my student finance status and it says I have parents learning allowance scheduled to be paid. When I did some research, it seems that this is only payable to those on an income below 18 000 something. I earn more than this, so why have I been awarded it?

Also, I am expecting to have a level 5 in leadership and management through my workplace by the time I apply for finance for my second year. Will I still be eligible for my tuition loan with this qualification?

Any help is welcome. Thank you.

Hi there. First, we use the income from any parent/partner and not your own income. If you are single, then we do not look at any income from yourself for your eligibility for the Parent Learning Allowance etc.

Secondly, to answer this can you please confirm the name of the qualification you will gain this year and also what you will be studying toward next year?

Thanks, David

Hi.

Thank you for your reply. I will hopefully have a city and guilds level 5 in leadership and management. I will be continuing into my second year of a bachelors degree.

Hi there, what is the degree you'll be studying? Is it a honours degree? Thanks, Jason

Hi again. Yes, it is an honours degree.

Thanks. If you're going directly into your second year then you'd be funded accordingly for the course. Thanks, Jason
