Results Day Experience

Hi all, I was a former university student and I went through clearing so I know how daunting and nerve-wracking it can be. I originally had a conditional offer for Leeds becket university for Biomedical Science but the University I really wanted to go to was Bradford University as I visited the open day and I preferred the campus, societies and style of teaching.

Results Day
On the day of my results I did not get the results I wanted. I was panicking quite a bit. My mother was very supportive of me and she said not worry and that clearing is open. I was too nervous to ring so my mother rang for me. The call handler who picked up the phone had a very friendly tone and was also really enthusiastic in their manner. They reassured me that my grades were good enough for some requirements courses they had and took me through the process. I told them I was interested in Biomedical Science and they said luckily it's in clearing and they offered me the place once they went through my personally details and grades.

My experience
The call handler explained that I will receive a letter in the post and a text to confirm my offer. The next day I received a congratulations post with University of Bradford goodies like a keychain and top. I was ecstatic seeing this and I felt on top of the world! I celebrated with my family by going out to an restaurant

My advice
My advice for anyone who is getting results is to make sure you have a backup plan and if that does not go to plan then ring clearing. My mistake was not ringing clearing earlier as I did not know much about it and I thought I wouldn't have to go through it as I was confident I was going to get the grades I wanted.
