The University of Edinburgh Life

Hi. I am interested in applying the the University of Edinburgh for 2026 , I really like their PPE course and have heard lots of good things about the uni and city itself. Unfortunately I am unable to visit before I make my application. I would love to hear current/recent students views on the uni and what Edinburgh is like to live in as a student. particularly what's the music scene like and nightlife, in the city and how the uni endorses life outside of study. Thanks!

There are lots of blogs on youtube from students living in Edinburgh which will give you a flavour.

It's worth visiting once you have an offer just to double check you like it as a place.

I know people who have attended Edinburgh, moved there for uni and some have not left following graduating. It is a great student city with plenty happening including the festival this time of year.

It's a city that receives plenty of tourists so I'd expect a pretty good music scene and thriving night life. I've been there a few times for a night out and it didn't disappoint.
