Hi @runnymuk123,

Yes! Many universities accept A Level English Language & Literature combined for a wide range of courses. This qualification shows strong skills in English, including both grammar and literary analysis, which is great to highlight in an application. Most courses don’t require a specific subject, so it really depends on the course you’re applying for.

Good luck with your studies!

Hi!

English Language and Literature combined A level is a brilliant subject to take to develop and demonstrate your skills around critical thinking, essay writing, and research, all of which are traits that are valued by Universities.

Many Universities do not ask for specific subjects when applying, so you will still have a wide range of courses that you are able to apply for (English Literature here at Lancaster, for example, has many students who have studied a combined lit+lang qualification and have went on to excel in their studies)

Is there a specific course or University you're considering?

Best,

Amy (Lancaster Student Ambassador)
