Received ABC can i still get into medical school.... help

I received my A-Levels today and I got an A in Bio, a B in Chem (only a couple of marks of an A :frown: ) and a C in physics. I found the physics papers really hard this year and ran out time in all of the papers. My plan is to resit chem and physics in my gap year and to apply to medicine this October 2025 using predicted grades. I was wondering if anyone had any advice or knows someone who has gone thru the same thing.

**btw i'm not contextual nor do I meet the widening participation criteria so i cant do a foundation year

Hi there! :hello:

Main advice from me would be to work out which medical schools you might like to apply to and their attitude to resits, as some can still be a bit sniffy about them.

Also have a think about what might be your backup if you aren't successful getting into something as competitive as medicine!

Hi @eeeeeeff ,

Congratulations on your results! Getting an A in Biology is amazing, and you’re so close in Chemistry! It sounds like you’ve got a solid plan for your gap year and know how you're going to improve your application which is great news. It can be tricky to figure out what to do next but it sounds like you have a great plan! 😀

Lots of people take a gap year to strengthen their application and go on to succeed. Stay organised, keep motivated, and make sure to take care of yourself along the way!

Good luck with everything!
