Conditions Pending PGCE

Im having this same problem. Only I hvae been accepted to Birmingham Newman. I have heard nothing from the University despite me sending emails to admissions after each condition have been met. I applied for the DBS but since I need to meet them in person for the ID verification and I literally do not get into the UK until August 31st, this has also been delayed. Im worried that the check wont come back in time. I dont know if they will allow me to enroll before it does, as we dont go on Placement until October anyways. But again, no communication with them and at this point I feel like just giving up. Imagine moving to the UK in 4 days and no guarantee if you will even be allowed into the college.

So has is been updated to not pending?

Have you uploaded your DBS to the DBS update service? Made that mistake and delayed my enrolment 😬

This sounds so stressful! I eventually had my status updated after hassling the enrolment team via email.
Your university may let you enrol conditionally whilst your DBS is processed, especially if your placement doesn’t start until October! I’d recommend trying to call or email, I know it’s hard to be positive right now, but they must have students that go through this every year!

I am really getting annoyed to be honest. Because like you say, it has to be something they've dealt with before so I was expecting at least some response or reasaurance so I don't completey lose it. I've even started researching jobs in the area just in case Im not allowed to enroll and Im stuck in the UK.

Hi all,
I’ve accepted a place at Sheffield Hallam on a PGCE but naturally this is conditional until my health and background checks are completed.
I’ve completed all checks and my two references have been supplied, but my place is still showing as pending on the DfE portal.
Am I panicking about nothing or is this quite common? Hallam don’t list all the criteria individually so I’m unsure what, if anything is missing.
I’ve tried calling, but with clearing all the phone lines are closed and I’m anxious that my place isn’t confirmed with only two weeks before my start date, also concerned waiting for an email response will hold everything up further.
Anyone else been in the same boat? Not sure whether I’m just worrying about nothing!
