a level spanish

was anyone else unhappy w their a level spanish result? i really feel i was unfairly marked down. i’m a native speaker and somehow got marked down almost 30 points in the speaking. i knew and used the complex structures and facts. i was consistently getting A*s when practicing with my teacher, who was an examiner herself. my paper 1 also was around 15 marks lower than my usual. any advice? will probably get a remark, but am i the only one disappointed?

Hello there!

I would ask for a review of marking if you feel you have not been marked fairly. What are your plans now (e.g. university, apprenticeship, etc.)?

hi! i actually took it a year early so currenrly no plans, sitting my a levels next year. taking this a level was more of a back up just in case. i won’t be applying with this grade but i feel the effort i put in wasnt proportionate to the result. i will be reviewing, thank you!

You will have to show the qualification on your UCAS application, but not as a pending qualification like the rest of your A-levels. I would still recommend asking for a review of marking though. I hope this helps

What exam board? I’m AQA. Are you unhappy with your overall grade?

We're AQA and also not happy, especially on the written paper. I'm struggling to understand how the Component Scaling (SWM) works for paper 1 and Speaking, the SWM's don't seem to relate to the scaled grade boundaries given on the AQA site.

i think that they multiply it by 2 for the speaking and for paper 1. the speaking is 60 marks that they then multiply by 2 to get 120, paper 1 is 100 that is then multiplied by 2 to get 200. those plus the 80 from the written paper make 400. check with a teacher if ur still unsure though.
