What's the worst start to a holiday you have had?

Having to call maintenance out within 10 minutes of arriving due to no electricity

My worst holiday start was when my flight got delayed for hours, and by the time I arrived, my luggage didn’t show up. I had to begin the trip with just my carry-on, buying essentials on the go. It was stressful at first but later turned into a funny story to share.

My trip to Black Forest (Germany) by train. 3 hours belated due to a bush fire and bloopers on changing lines. My cancelled flight to Vienna does not count thanks to an interrupted holiday.

Mine was landing late, then realizing the hotel had lost the reservation. After a long flight, standing at the desk at 1 am while they tried to find a room was rough. It sets the tone fast when basics go wrong.

My whole holiday got cancelled (Thomas cook went bust). Should have been going to Lanzarote for a week.
Ended up going to Prague from Monday-Friday instead.
