The University has been made aware of a post on The Student Room advising incoming students to Durham University who have not yet been allocated a college to make a complaint through the Admissions Office. The Admissions Office is unable to respond to these complaints, as the college allocation process sits outside of the admissions process.
Any messages received to that account will be passed on to the College Allocation and Accommodation Office, but will not receive a response from Admissions.
If you would like to make an enquiry about College allocations. the best way to do this is via our Live Chat function on our website.
Staff are working extremely hard to allocate rooms to those students who are still waiting. While we appreciate this is frustrating, we would ask you to please be patient while we complete this work.

As a parent I am really concerned about the mental health impact this process has had with so little communication and explanation. We are on our 6th deadline but only found two by contacting admissions and one through another parent on FB. Regular (accurate and honest) email updates would go a long way and alleviate the need to deal with presumably endless enquiries. Finding a way to make the process less protracted would help too - it is really hard watching everyone you know get sorted and having weeks of no idea where you belong. Many will lose their peer support this weekend as many other unis begin Freshers weeks - which will leave this group still waiting really vulnerable.

I totally agree as a parent who has been journeying this super stressful time with our daughter. It is so hard for everyone

I received something where you had to complete a form saying you want the accommodation, but nothing about paying. I am yet to receive a college email.

Insurance reallocated to Aidan's Monday eve, accom came through Tues eve (in college), first bit of enrollment came through today but not password (think they say takes 24hrs). Check when your course module registration deadline is as mine is Friday - get in touch with department asap if you think enrollment won't be complete. Some emails are saying deadline extended to next Wed, but my dept stuff isn't. Good idea to have had a think about modules choice as might have to do it fast.
