Student finance maintenance and tuition loan after 2 years previous study

Hi!

I did 2 years total of a full time degree (Y1 then resit of Y1) with both tuition and maintenance loan for each year. I had to leave my course due to mental health reasons (not enough evidence for compelling reasons). I’m hoping to go back next September for a 26/27 year start and the course would be full time in person.

I’m aware I’d not receive any tuition loan for my 1st year given my 2 previous years of study, however would I still be eligible for maintenance loan?

Thank you for any input!

Hi there,

Yes, even if you're not entitled to a Tuition Fee Loan in that year you'll still be entitled to the Maintenance Loan.

Thanks, Graeme
