Do i need to do old spec past papers to get an A in mathematics?

Do i need to do old spec past papers to get an A in mathematics? or will the new spec be enough.... also im planning to retake a few modules on oct and jan- so theres like 1 month of time for each paper... that'll be enough time right to get an A... im planning on studying 6-10hrs a day

new spec is more than enough - as long as you fully understand all the concepts you'll be completely fine. the first past paper i ever did after learning all the content, i got 94%. just make sure you understand everything before you move on to the next thing. with 6-10 hours a day and your next exam in october you'll have more than enough time to go back through the textbook and solidify all the concepts. just please i can't stress this enough, don't do it so you remember how to do it, do it so you remember why you do it. one example of how this helped me is interpolation in statistics. i couldn't for the life of me figure out wtf was going on in that formula, but once i realised you're working out out how far into a class the element is, it clicked and the formula became intuitive. it'll take time, but always prioritise intuitiveness over memorisation
