Hello,
I have a question regarding the student finance application. I have received an email saying that i am not eligible for student finance funding (tuition fee and maintenance loan) for the academic year 25/26 because i was not able to prove my dependency on my parent. Basically, I am the child of an EEA national worker (over 21) who is and have been dependent on their parent. My parent has Permanent Residence (Settled Status) and i have pre-settlement status as well ( i have tried to look for work during this time but I was unsuccessful). Just to mention, at the beginning of the academic year i would have lived in the UK for more than 3 years and even the university i am going to study at has decided I am a home student based on several criteria. The thing is, in order to prove this dependency I had to provide proof such as utility bills, and rent agreements (both on my mother's name) , which i actually did, though I still have received this decision from SF. They asked for these bills and agreements two times and two times i have sent them - proof from which you can conclude i am dependent on my parent. Does anyone know what could be the actual problem? I feel like it is probably the fact that they just havent checked all the documents i sent more thoroughly, as they have asked for the same documents several times in the past.
Thank you in advance.
