National insurance evidence still being reviewed even though application is approved

Hi, I ran into an issue where i submitted my national insurance number and it had already been in their system, i submitted the evidence back in april-may time, my application still says approved, but also reviewing evidence, will i still receive payments? or do i need to wait for them to finish? It's been unclear and i had to mail my evidence in because the electronic link wouldn't work, I'm stumped, even though my application is approved and my payments are scheduled (just waiting on the uni to confirm to sfe). I'm also slightly in a panic because i need these payments for uni, and they've been reviewing this evidence for a very long time
