Will I be able to transfer to University of Kent for 3rd & 4th year

I’m currently studying Law with foundation year in the midlands which I am going into my 2nd year but for my 3rd and 4th year I am looking to transfer to University of Kent, most times when I see people transfer they are in 1st year going into 2nd year, will I still be able to transfer? I understand not being able to if 3rd year was my final year but I still have 2 more years I feel there’s some type of way

Whilst a FY counts for things like finance, etc., it doesn't really apply here for making a decision. You are essentially starting year 1 now, as far as other universities are concerned, so assuming the modules line up with UKC, then there shouldn't be a problem. You will need your transcript for them to make a decision later this year

Transfers into Year 3 or beyond are exceptionally rare for any subject and usually only made for compelling compassionate reasons. All you can do is email Kent and ask but its likely they will say No.

Hi,

Thanks for considering to study at Kent! Unfortunately the University of Kent does not accept transfers into stage 2 or stage 3 for Law LLB. I am sorry that we were not able to assist with this but if you have any other questions please let me know!

If this is the case you'd be best to either see if UKC will accept your FY to go directly onto the degree or you'd need to carry on where you are. Make sure you do this before you officially enrol for your second year as you will opening yourself up to more complications. Just to note a FY isn't a formal qualification so it will be up to UKC to decide on this one.

Hi,
I hope you are well! 😊

One of our reps Srijita has already given you some great advice. Unfortunately Kent does not accept transfers into stage 2 or stage 3 for Law. You are welcome to contact our friendly admissions team if you are interested in any of our Law courses, which you would have to begin studying from stage 1. If you have any questions about studying Law at Kent then I'm sure our rep Srijita would love to help the best she can! You can post any questions on our thread here🙂

Admissions contact details:

I hope this helps!😊

Best wishes,

Just to clarify - by "second year" do you mean the first year of the main course (i.e. the second calendar year of the course with foundation year)? And therefore wanting to transfer into second year of the course at Kent?

Normally when reckoning your university year for courses with a foundation year, that year is considered a "zeroth" year.
