Maybe not exactly what you need but have you considered a second hand macbook air ? I've have really good experiences with them. Cheap Refurbished Apple MacBook Deals | Back Market (backmarket I've also had a good experience with for refurbished macs)

Hi @demonic-roach

Congratulations on your software engineering place!

It is worth discussing the specific laptop requirements for your department as there will be definitely be a minimum requirement to cope with the systems, databases and languages used on the course.

If you have already enrolled, you may be able to access this information anyway, but if not you should have contact details for your academics so you I'd advise you get in touch with them directly.

We look forward to welcoming you next month!

HP 840 G8
Grade A stock. Which means that it's very close to an as good as new condition.
These are well engineered premium business laptops. A nice bit of quality for a reasonable price.
You could pretend to all your course mates that you bought it new. 😁
Whilst smiling inwardly to yourself at how little you paid compared to what they spent on their laptops...

There are other deals on HP 840 G8's. Such as:
HP 840 G8 with i7
Nicer internal spec, but with some wear to the trackpad button and cosmetic damage to the lid. Plus you'll need to get yourself a charger separately (genuine HP USB C chargers cost £20 from ebay).

Hi, I have a question about another matter but wasnt sure how to reach you, I applied at Lancaster University and Manchester Metropolitan as my insurance, I visited today and im not sure I want to study at lancaster and prefer manchester more, I had a BBB offer for Computer Science BSc and got AAB so met the requirements, but on UCAS it says i declined my offer when I didnt (possibly automated) I also want to study cyber security instead of computer science so do you think id be able to apply this late and change my offer to Cyber Security? I am an offer holder I think but im just not sure.

Hi @muaz1607

So once you meet the offer conditions of your firm choice and your place is confirmed (unconditional) your insurance choice is automatically cancelled unfortunately. It's now no longer possible to reapply to Manchester Met as Clearing has closed with us. Sorry if this is disappointing. You could think about applying for advanced entry to Year 2 for next September. If you'd like to discuss your options, give our Course Enquiries Helpline a call and they'll be able to advise: 0161 247 6969 or you can email them at [email protected].

Hope this helps.
Mel 🙂
