Hi there,

I am a Cardiff Uni student and love it here! I can't recommend it enough. Many of my friends did law here as well, and they enjoyed it! What year are you hoping to start?
AAA-ABB are the required grades to study Law at Cardiff, but I would recommend looking at clearing, (currently going right now), as there are often spaces available and clearing typically accepts students with 1 or 2 grades lower than the required. However please note that places through clearing are not guaranteed, and courses fill up quickly.
If you have any other questions please let me know, all the best of luck!

Great!
The earlier you are able to call clearing the better, so keep an eye out for opening times (next year July/August).
So glad you are excited about Cardiff Uni, i have had the best time! But also Cardiff in general is a great city to live in, especially as a student. I don't know much about Cardiff Met as a university, but they also have a page on here if you need to speak to them as well to find out more 🙂
Hope this helps, and all the best of luck!

Hi there 👋

I have seen you're interested in staying in Wales for your studies. I’m a recent Law with Business graduate from Swansea, and honestly I’d say Law here is a great choice if you are still looking for other options. ⚖️

One of the highlights for me was getting involved in the Swansea Law Clinic -https://www.swansea.ac.uk/law/lawclinic/. It gives you the chance to work on real cases and community projects under supervision. For example, I helped put together resources and produced presentations on battery and assault, discrimination, and children’s rights in education to help widen legal knowledge in the community. It was really rewarding volunteer work that also looks fantastic on your CV, since you’re showing employers you’vegained practical legal and presentation experience outside of lectures.

In terms of modules, the course covers all the foundations you need for SQE1 📚, like Contract, Tort, Equity & Trusts and more. But after first year, you also get a wide choice of optional modules to tailor your degree. Everything from Negotiations, World Trade Law and Sports Law, so there’s room to explore your interests alongside the core content.

There are also loads of opportunities to build your legal skills outside the classroom. Swansea runs competitions and training in mooting, client interviewing and mediation all of which are brilliant practice for the kinds of assessments and real-world tasks you’ll face as a solicitor. 🏆

The Law Society is very active too and their main sponsor is Eversheds Sutherland. Thanks to that partnership, we got to attend an insight evening with the firm, which was a fantastic networking opportunity 🌟. On top of that, the Law society provides and opportunity to participate in the annual Commercial Awareness Competition, which, after competing, secured me some work experience with a leading firm in Cardiff 🏙️. Those kinds of opportunities gave me exposure to the legal profession really early on.

Therefore, I would honestly say Swansea is pretty good for law. If you’d like to find out more or talk through your options, the Clearing helpline is open now on 📞 +44 (0)1792 277777. Its definitely worth giving them a ring.

Hi!
Im a first year in Cardiff studying Law and I got in with BBB, however I did get an A* in EPQ and I received a contextual offer which reduced my entry requirements, so I think maybe thats why they let me in.
My predicted grades were 3 As so I got an offer but I think if you don't qualify for any of the contextual offer requirements or do an EPQ they might not give you an offer.
If unis like your personal statement they might potentially offer you a different course with lower requirements but that varies from uni to uni.
Good Luck!
