Fresher’ week

Should I be worried I haven’t booked any fresher’s events for QMUL?

Hi @Scott Trimble

Usually freshers week is a lot more "go with the flow" than people expect. A lot of the events being advertised that aren't affiliated with the university are either a little scammy, or you'll be able to get into anyway as they'll sell tickets on the door the night of the event. I'd only recommend buying freshers tickets/wristbands directly ran by QMUL or their SU.

Hey there 👋

My name is Siobhan and I’m a third year student at the University of Central Lancashire. This is a great question and I completely get your concerns!

Typically on freshers week, there are loads of different events that will be going on that you can just join without tickets such as food stalls, sports fairs, societies info days etc. I attended these on my freshers with no tickets and still had a blast! These might also take up a lot of your time and you don’t want to be rushing to things that are booked!!

I would definitely go with the flow and if you do see something that you like then there should still be tickets for you left over to get last minute!!

I hope this helps and please let me know if you have any more questions 🙂
