Applied 2 days late for accomodation, will I still get a room

So I'm starting at cardiff university in September. I was still deciding between unis quite late, as I unexpectedly had to leave my previous uni, and so I didn't have my uni offer firmed when starting to apply for accomodation. I Accepted my offer on July 23rd on UCAS but ended up missing my accomodation guarantee by 2 days.

I initially thought this was no big deal as it was processed first come first serve. But now it's been a few weeks and I'm wondering if I still will get a room. Cardiffs webiste says that they will prioritise other students first (clearing, insurnace) over myself. Im now really comcerned that I will simply not get a room for September. Should I start to look for houses privately or will they still process my application.

It would probably be a good idea to get in touch with Cardiff University and explain the situation to them. They'll then be able to tell you if they can still guarantee accommodation or not, which will help with you deciding if you need to get private accommodation instead.

Hi,

Usually this is the time of year that the university will contact you about your accommodation, but yes, I agree with global_astro! It would be best to contact the university's Residences Team at [email protected] as they would be able to give you specific information about your application
