Students who commute

Just wondering are there alot of students that commute if they live with in a hour or so of the universities.

Hi!

Yes, this is a completely normal situation across a wide range of universities!

Ultimately, it does all come down to the individual- if you think that the commute is alright, and don't mind living at home, then that's great! There's plenty of accommodation available if you change your mind, but as previously stated, it's on a person by person basis.

there is quite a lot of commuters at leeds (not as many as I expected) but if you branch out and talk to people from different courses then you will start to meet other commuters. also theres a comm society.. not sure how good that is lol

I hope you are well! I have noticed a lot of commuters at LJMU, more than I expected there to be. I have a few in my smaller seminar classes that I get on really well with and although I am not commuting it does not make a difference at all obviously!

As mentioned, commuting is down to personal preference and if you think that commuting is the best way for you to get to uni then thats absolutely fine! You might decide that for your second year you would like to move out into a house/accommodation or you might decide that you want to carry on commuting and ultimately save the money that you would be spending on accommodation! Either way you will have the best time at uni and meet so many amazing people!
