UCAT Score for Dentistry 2025

Hi everyone 🙂
My daughter sat the UCAT today and scored 2140 Band 2. She’s relieved it is over but nervous about whether it is likely high enough for offers of an interview from her preferred choices - Newcastle, Liverpool, Sheffield, Leeds ? Any advice would be welcome. Thanks 🙏

Hi. Huge congrats to her! This is an amazing score!!
I'd be over the moon if I can get this kinda score when I sit mine shortly, lol.
This score is well within the expected cut-offs for all the unis you mentioned, barring any huge score inflations from last year. What's her GCSE stats? as Leeds also consider GCSEs highly.

hi,
Huge congrats to your daughter 2140 band 2 is definitely competitive enough for these unis as long as she has good GCSE's (7,8,9) in core subjects and a strong personal statement as unis like Leeds score your PS. I'm a first year dental student myself and tutor dental application if she if ever looking for help!

Thanks sasf for your reply. I think she’s just unsure about the score because it has all changed this year and no one really knows what the cut offs will be. She did well in her GCSE’s - 999999999 so hopefully that might also be taken into consideration. Good luck in your UCAT !

Hi dentalentry thanks for your reply. She got all 9’s in GCSE’s and her personal statement is strong I think. She got a weeks work experience in private dental practice tho only a day in an NHS one but a lot of extra curriculars and voluntary. Fingers crossed it gets her some interviews.

Could you help me, I did the ucat this year and I got a really low score of 1780 I got 610 in VR and DM and then 560 in QR honestly it felt like just nerves in the exam because academics I've got 9s chem french bio and 8s in physics geog r.e maths art English lang and a 7 in English lit I've done volunteering at a dementia care home and I wrote an EPQ with a predicted A* I also have a black belt in taekwondo and do art I really want to be a dentist and study next year but my ucat went awful

Try Cardiff, Liverpool, Sheffield and Belfast as they all prioritise GCSE scores over UCAT.as you have a really good set of GCSE's. Ive been looking as Im the opposite - better UCAT and worse GCSE's. Or take a gap year and resit UCAT. Still worth applying as you never know at these Unis the UCAT is not everything. Good luck
