Anyone know if I would be entitled to Student finance for nursing degree?

Hi, I studied and achieved Registered Nurse Diploma in Higher Education back in 2001 at NorthumbriaUniversity. I have NOT been on the nursing register since 2008 as I moved around with my husband's job including abroad. I enquired about studying a social work degree but SFE said I wasn't entitled to full tuition fees as id received this level 5 qualification previously in nursing.
Therefore I am now wondering if i'd be able to get funding to study a Nursing or paramedic degree seeing as im no longer on the nursing register and my previous study was at Diploma level not adegree in Nursing.
I will of course contact SFE when they are open to discuss.
Thanks

If you're looking to go back in to nursing, have you looked at a return to practice course, rather than doing the full degree, seeing as you already have a nursing qualification and practiced for a few years?

(These are just 2 examples)
