Should I even try for cambridge??

Going into y13 and wanted to apply to Cambridge for physics/natural sciences. I take math, FM, chem and physics and took math a year early but got an A. I was really close to an A* so I’m considering a remark but since it probably won’t change, would it even be worth applying to Cambridge anymore?? Would the A put me at a disadvantage? My predicted grades are strong and my GCSEs are good as well as supercurriculars but I feel like the A looks really bad on the application. Any help?

I don't see any harm in trying. From what I can see, the typical offer for the course is A* A* A. If you think you can achieve the 2 A*'s in your other subjects then go for it. I'll be honest, Cambridge is incredibly hard to get into so it may be unlikely but you have 5 application slots so give it a shot, you lose nothing from trying.

You can always give it a shot. What I will say is, if you really want to get in, you have to apply. And if you don't apply, you may always worry.
Just have a strong personal statement
