Grade boundaries

Heyy! So i’m currently waiting for my gcse results and I have been looking at the a level grade boundaries, my sibling who has just done a levels has told me that they were incredibly high and many people missed their university offers. So my question is, If a level grade boundaries were high, does this mean gcse grade boundaries will also be high? I know it depends on how the cohort did but when researching, it looks like both had high grade boundaries. This has also started to make me feel uneasy about how my results will look like.

I just need answers!!!

GCSE and A-level grade boundaries cannot and should not be compared because they are such different qualifications. That being said if the grade boundaries are high, it means that the cohort of students has done better overall and the grade boundaries are there to reflect the difficulty of those papers. I would also like to add though that a record number of students were accepted to their first choice university (something around 82% if I recall correctly) and more students were accepted into their first choice university even if they didn't meet the entry requirements.

I think every year someone says, "The grade boundaries are so much higher this year!" But they entirely depend on the difficulty of the papers, not even so much on how the whole cohort did. So if the paper was easier the grade boundaries will be higher and vice versa. They change each year so that each student gets the grade appropriate to their exam performance. It's it a good thing? Imagine they would be the same each year. Everyone would complane that the papers were harder and it is unfair!
In the end of the day there is nothing you can change right now so just relax and try to do something that would take your attention away from the results day. Good luck
