Measure your laptop. Visualise a pile of lecture notes. Go to a shop that sells bags. Buy the bag that suits your needs. Has it honestly got to the stage where we need to ask for advice online for buying a bag? Will it be socks next?

Hey!
Finding the right bag for commuting is super important, especially when you're carrying a laptop and notes every day. A good, comfy bag can make a huge difference!
From my experience, in my foundation year, I started with handbags but switched to a backpack at the end of my first year for comfort and ease. I've been with it ever since! My advice is to find a bag that's really suitable for you and your daily commute.
Here are some key things to look for when you're choosing one:

Padded Laptop Sleeve: This is an absolute must-have. A separate, padded compartment will keep your laptop safe from bumps and drops while you're on the move.

Comfort and Support: Look for bags with padded shoulder straps and a cushioned or ventilated back panel. This will make a big difference on longer walks or busy commutes.

Water-Resistant Material: This is crucial for rainy days! Check that the bag is made from a water-resistant material like polyester or nylon to protect your tech from the rain.

Organisation: Look for bags with multiple compartments and internal pockets. This will make it easy to find your charger, pens, keys, and lecture notes without having to dig through everything.

Size: Make sure the bag is big enough to hold all your essentials without being too bulky.

Finding the right bag that combines comfort, protection, and organisation can make your daily commute so much better.
Hope this helps you find the perfect one. 😊

Hi there,

Good question!

I'd defo recommend a rucksack over a satchel/over shoulder bag as these are better for your back/shoulders and generally more protective for laptops.

LOVEVOOK on Amazon do some really nice rucksacks mostly for under thirty pounds - these ones are 15.6 inches which fit most standard laptops, come with a padded laptop section as well as space for notepads, food, phone/purse etc, and come in loads of colours - check them out here and here!

I hope this helps and best of luck 🙂

So I ended up finding a great option from Unibags in Pakistan—super comfy, organized, and holds my laptop + notes easily. Plus, some are water-resistant which is perfect for those rainy days. Here’s the link in case anyone else is looking: UniBags Laptop Collection

Hey @glowo6191

You've received some great advice already. Just to add on - I would highly reccomend going for a waterproof bag so that you don't have to worry about your stuff getting damaged. I personally got a rucksack bag from TKMaxx for a great price so I would definitely suggest checking them out once. I remember seeing amazing deals on Amazon and Unidays as well so definitely have a look there for student deals and discounts.

I hope this helps!

All the best,
