Uni of Exeter- accommodation

I just got accepted to the university of Exeter after problems with UCAS. I just got my student ID but it will take a while until I am able to apply for accommodation. Does anyone know where I can look to see which accommodations are still available? Also, I have seen some people say they have been sent to a private sector accommodation after applying where there is exclusively year 1 undergraduate students so even if all the uni accommodations are full, is it still worth applying so they can allocate me to one of those and is there any way I can see the availability of those too? I don't mind if the only offers left are private accommodation but I really want to be roomed with first years.

Did you have any luck with finding private accommodation for first years? I am in the same situation and really want to be with other first year students.

I don't believe it is possible to check to see which accommodations are still available. I suggest that you do your application now (which, as it's past 31 July, accommodation offers are given first-come, first-served, so the sooner, the better)
You can check the different accommodations here
You can begin your application from here by clicking "Login to apply now"

Unfortunately, I'm not entirely sure about private sector accommodations. As a first year, you will be prioritised for accommodation, and I think you may be more likely to be housed with other first years, but don't take my word on the latter.
Anyway, hopefully you get a good accommodation, good luck .

guys I need some advice... I am currently holding 2 rooms and I need to decide which one I want before 5pm tomorrow. I either opt for a studio room at Birks Grange or an en-suite at Cricket Field Court, which should I go for?!

I can offer some advice if you could provide a list of pros and cons for each accommodation. Take into consideration proximity to the campus centre/ your department for your course, proximity to the city centre, facilities (e.g. laundry rooms or even music practice rooms if you're interested in that), general location and flat facilities.
