So much for my driving theory test
I had a meltdown and didn't even make it into the centre. That was Β£23 down the drain, oh well. I have applied for another test, this time with accommodations (earplugs) but that is making the process more complicated.
I am carrying on with my job search, and I need to really get to work on my personal statement.
The driving theory is particularly disappointing, because I want to be able to book my driving test and pass sooner rather than later. I need to be able to apply for a provisional C1 as soon as possible so I can get working on that. The job market for newly qualified paramedics is very oversaturated so, having the full C1 by the time I qualify will help me to get a job.

Spoiler

Sorry to hear you didnt get to do your driving test
Hopefully having earplugs makes it easier
Best of luck with your ps and job search πŸ™‚

Sorry to hear about the theory test :frown: Hope it goes better for you next time :crossedf: Good luck with the job search as well!
Not much has changed since I last updated. I'm waiting to hear back from the test centre about accommodations for when I try and do my theory test again. They make it so much more difficult to book if you need something mildly harder than their standard disability accommodations.

I have been spending a lot of time sewing, I'm trying to make a skirt at the moment (with not much planning or a pattern so it will probably be crap).

I didn't finish Dark Matter because I was talking a whole lot of rubbish about autism and I didn't want to listen to it. I am now reading Can Medicine Be Cured? by Seamus O'Mahony, and currently it seems quite good.

Sorry to hear about the issues with the test centre, they really should make it easier for people to access reasonable adjustments
Your sewing project sounds fun!

I have a purple sewing machine, and I love it! (John Lewis Mini if you were curious)
I have updated the air ambulance thread for the first time in months

Sorry the adjustments required are difficult to get from the test centre.
Nice that you've got into sewing.
I finally have a date for my new theory test :shakecane:

The whole process of booking it was ridiculous, and I have well over a month until it happens.

In more exciting news - I may be going out on a larger event with St John!

I have applied for some more jobs but haven't heard anything yet, I'm feeling more optimistic at the moment although I'm sure that will be crushed again.

I need to start working properly on my personal statement, but organising my brain is challenging at the moment. I'm trying to go through the UCAS advice and see where it goes from there.

At least the booking stuff is out the way and you have time to re-prepare
Thats great that you get to do an event with St Johns
Best of luck with the job hunt as always!
Hope your application stuff goes well πŸ™‚

Thank you
This story has so many twists and turns...

So it turns out the theory test never booked, and they have lost all trace of the booking reference I used to request access arrangements. I will have to call them on Monday, because they gave me three slots to choose from and a deadline that has not yet passed but I am unable to do anything to actually book it.

Honestly a joke...

I finally actually have a theory test booked now, but it isn't for over two months because of the DVSA's incompetence. It does mean for now I can focus on getting a job, TSR stuff and writing my personal statement.

I really need to actually plan out my time so I can make the most of it, while I have it. The whole idea of doing that seems a bit overwhelming because I have very few things with fixed times.

I'm glad you got a date. Happy to help with any car theory preparation. :hugs:

If you're unsure of timings, why don't you create to-do lists?

It requires me organising myself enough to write down a to-do list lol
