Leicester Med Students 2 – Moving in Early (13–14 Sept) – Meet-up at Freeman’s Common

Hello everyone,

I thought I’d start a thread for Leicester Medical School students starting in September 2025 and moving into accommodation a week early (13–14 September) before main Uni opens.

My daughter will be one of them, and she’s a little nervous as she doesn’t know anyone yet and will may be the only one in her flat (to make things harder, it’s also her birthday that week, away from family!). Since med students move in before most others, it might be nice to arrange a small get-together so no one feels like they’re spending their first night away from home on their own.

I propose something simple on the Sunday afternoon — say 3pm at the Freeman’s Common cafeteria — just coffee, a soft drink, and a chance to put faces to names before the first day.

If there are quite a few people replying who are moving into The Village, we could also suggest a similar meet-up there at the same time.
