Uni doubts post results day

Hello people,

This year I visited Warwick Uni and quite liked the campus. I also know of some other people who were going so decided to firm the uni even though I changed the course I originally wanted to do (which was fine). I also knew it was high on the rankings which also made me more inclined. As I did more research I found the Uni of Leeds a lot more appealing in its course content and as I didn't think I would get into warwick. I had a strong idea I might get into leeds so gradually became more excited about going there (I do enjoy the idea of good nightlife and just more of a sociable environment) although I had never actually seen the uni itself and saw most of this through social media. When results day came around I ended up getting into warwick and was initially very excited as I got into what I would consider a prestigious uni. Although, as I have done more research I am worrying I wont enjoy it there. I have heard that there is nothing around in terms of nightlife and just social things to do and I am more inclined to believe that most of the people that go there are more lowkey and are not really party people. Now, I have left it too long so there is no longer the opportunity to switch uni’s/ go through clearing. But I just don't know if I am overthinking it/ or am being silly for thinking I shouldn’t even go. Everyone has told me I would enjoy the uni atmosphere but I’m just not sure Warwick can give that to me.

I would appreciate some words of wisdom from anybody who was doubtful before they went to uni or just anybody who thinks they can help with my situation. Sorry for the ramble!

I can't personally give much advice as I haven't been in this situation myself but I am a student at Warwick. From my experience (as someone who kind of fits your stereotype - I don't drink and I dislike clubbing), a lot of people at Warwick do enjoy clubbing and go out regularly. I've heard it said a lot that Warwick is a 'work hard, play hard' kind of uni, and I think I agree with that. I think the perception that there is no nightlife comes because it's a campus uni. Having said that, there is a club on campus, there are a couple of clubs in Leamington Spa, several in Coventry and there are party buses to Birmingham as well. However, I understand that this is a different style of nightlife than if you were at a uni in the middle of a city like Leeds where the clubs are probably larger and more numerous. I won't attempt to advise you on what you should do because like I said I've not been in this situation myself, but just wanted to provide some reassurance that if you do end up at Warwick, there are many many people who do enjoy clubbing and who do go out every week etc. Please just ask if you have any other questions and good luck with whatever you end up doing!
