Lower resit result in IGCSE (maths) {{Please help!}}

Hello please can people help me with this, I just resat my maths extended IGCSE and got a 4 when I had originally received a grade 5. What will universities think of this? Will they look more at the higher grade (5) or the most recent grade (4)?
My reasoning, though now I regret it, was that I wanted to get a higher grade so that I could potentially sit A levels where a higher grade in maths is required along with some university courses requiring a higher grade in maths, but as I've failed to get a higher grade and in fact actually gotten a grade lower, I am feeling both worried and extremely disappointed. Does anyone know anything about this like which grade will be more focused on by universities? What I should do? I know i should focus on my alevels now but I am worried of the damage that me wanting to improve my grade has done.. My other gcse results are fine, its just this one which is concerning to me and I'd appreciate information or advise, thank you in advance
