Preparation for Maths Degree

Would anyone be able to recommend which topics to go over as a refresh from my maths Alevel before I’m going into my degree. I took two years out and am starting in September for uni. topics from pure (and stats/mechs if needed)

Hi @jdndom,

In terms of the most used areas on maths at university, I found that I have been using a lot of calculus (differentiation a likelnd intergration) and linear algebra (matrices and vectors) during my maths degree so these may be useful to brush up on. Often, your first semester is a bit of a transition and you are likely to go over these topics anyway maybe with slightly more detail (looking at some of the proofs behind them). Thus, I would say that you do not need to revise too much to prepare for university, but a refreash of the mentioned topics is never a bad idea.

Best wishes for your university journey

Can you tell us your university, or at least tell us what your first term's/semester's courses are? We could hopefully give more specific advice.
