regret accepting clearing offer help

hey, I accepted a clearing offer on results day last week, but I’m regretting it now because I no longer want to do that course. I’d like to know how I can go about withdrawing myself from my current place and reach out to other universities for a different course. thanks.

Just ring other places and enquire, then ring ucas to withdraw your acceptance when you have an offer you want instead.

Can you still see the 'Decline my place' button next to your confirmed place? If so, once you have another offer, you can press that to release yourself back in to Clearing.

Hi @insoluble-bust,

Thank you so much for your question 😊

That's no problem, it’s a really big decision to make, and things can move very quickly during Clearing, so it’s completely normal to have second thoughts.

The best first step is to contact the universities you’re now interested in and see if they are able to make you a provisional offer. If they can, you’ll then be able to decline your current place in your UCAS Hub. Once that’s done, you can add your new Clearing choice.

You might also find it helpful to visit our Clearing thread, which has lots of tips and guidance on the process.

Where are you thinking of applying next, and what course are you interested in? We’d love to hear from you!

Best wishes,
