uni of liverpool accom advice

hello, i've just been offered accommodation as a first year undergrad at Uni of Liverpool. i initially applied for accom in april, haven't missed any deadlines. i applied for greenbank, vine court, melville grove and i didnt get any of these. they have offered me private accommodation which is apparently part of their accommodation guarantee. i really wanted greenbank and just assumed they would put me there like everyone else, or at least in another university-owned hall. because they have put me in private accommodation, there is no way for me to request to be moved to a different room in any liverpool halls and they aren't obliged to offer me a different room if i turn down this one, so it feels like my hands are tied. i've called the accom office and they told me there is nothing they can do. is anyone else in a similar situation? are the private halls fine? im slightly worried abt the social aspect. would appreciate any advice

Hey, my son is in the same position, applied for those same 3 and got none of them so came here to have a look. Where was your offer?

Student Roost halls are fine and, depending on which one you have been offered, they are in better locations than the uni halls. My young person returned to the same hall for second year because of the location. There is no disadvantage to being offered this and you will be with fellow Liv Uni students.
