Will SLC overpayment affect my Postgraduate Loan?

Hi everyone,

I’m hoping for some advice.
I did a CYI (Check Your Income) for my third year, and SLC said I overestimated my income, so I owe around £2,500. This is separate from my undergraduate loan.
I sent SLC financial evidence for my parents back in mid-July, but they haven’t updated the figure yet. The current amount is a default figure that doesn’t take my parents’ financial info into account, so I’m waiting for a recalculation.
My Postgraduate course starts in February, and I’m worried about whether this will affect my loan application (I am applying for the maximum amount)

Has anyone been in a similar situation where SLC took a long time to recalculate an overpayment? And does anyone know how this will impact my my Postgraduate Loan application?

Thanks so much!

Hi there,

Just to confirm when in July did you send this as this should have updated by now?

Thanks, Jason
