Transferring from Aston to UoB

Hi so I’m due to start an engineering degree at Aston this September. However, I really have my sights set on UoB due to their industry links and overall reputation so was wondering if it were a good idea/feasible to switch to UoB in second year? Was wondering if anyone has ever done this before or had any tips?

Any help would be greatly appreciated :smile:

Second year transfers are rare. The 'reputation' of a uni doesn't count for a lot when you are looking for jobs. What will count is a good degree (2.1 or above) and work experience. Does Aston offer a placement year, study abroad or internships? These are what add to your graduate CV.

Thank you for this. I guess I’m still a little bummed out I was rejected from my first choice so it’s taking a while to get rid of that feeling. I’ll do. placement year with Aston and that should help me career-wise. Thanks for the insight!!
