About half your GCSEs should be 9s and 8s at least.

How about 3 8s and 9s (maybe 4 9s and 2 8s as I'm getting a remark) and 2 7s

Yes they're fine for most courses but not Medicine, which has an average of 9A* grades i.e. 9 x 9s/8s. Your A-Level predictions must be A*A*A or A*A*A* as so many others have that too. But the admissions tests if there are any are more important for shortlisting for interviews and the interviews of course!!! 🙂

English Language needs to be a minimum of 6 for most competitive degree courses but a 7 is ideal. Drama won't matter.

Your GCSE English grade has to be higher.

Otherwise you have 9s 8s and 7s as well 6 5 4

Many others will have higher GCSEs.

But you need to impress with your A-Level grades.

So I won't have a chance if I got a 5 in lang

I'm afraid I have no answers to your questions (I'm not familiar with STEM applications) but just wanted to let you know that thegeek888 isn't always the best source of information...

Fair enough

I got 999998876 and a distinction star and I’m starting chemistry at oxford in october. My 7 is in lit and my 6 is in lang. They will take into account how well your school normally does in comparison to you. I went to a really bad state school for context.

How would you know if your school is good or not?
