I was predicted a 9 but i got a 5 in english lit (i want to apply to oxford as well h

i literally don't know what happened but im getting it remarked. I want to study medicine at oxford (🤞) so if my grade doesn't change then do i still have a chance? Becuase apparently eng lang is the important one and i got an 8 in that. I got 7 9's and 2 8's (lang and chem) and total plus that 5. Also im getting chem reviewed bc im one mark from a 9. Do i still have a chance or would they just reject me as soon as they see a 5?? Or do i even have to show them my lit grade when i have that lang grade?

I can't give you any advice but I just wanted to let you know that you are not alone. I too recieved a 5 today in a subject that I was expected a 9 in and I am aiming for Cambridge so I am very much in the same boat. Good luck and best wishes!

Entry requirements for each UK Medical School - UK medical school entry requirements - Medical Schools Council

Most only specify GCSE English Lang and/or Maths grades (typically 6 or 7) - they really are not going to care about one grade 5. Bristol as one example, does not look at your GCSE grades at all. Stop worrying and focus on your A levels - they will matter.

You have to put all grades on UCAS - you can't leave anything out.
