Second gap year advice?

hi! I’m a student about to go into a second gap year as results day didn’t quite go as planned and I want to reapply this year so I can try and get into a maths course at my dream uni! However, this was not what I planned at all, and at the moment it feels daunting knowing I have another year before going to uni. I do about 25-30 hours at my job and I’m planning to retake some exams at the end of this year. Last year, I was really unmotivated (causing me to get much lower than planned in my exams) and I got into a really bad routine of waking up late, cause I do a lot of late nights at my job, so I was wondering if anyone else has taken a second year, and what they did to fill the time and motivate themselves for exams? I feel like I completely wasted my last gap year and want to make an effort to do things differently this time!

I'm reminded of a quote from Ferris Bueller's Day Off: "Live moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it".

Make sure you don't miss life! Only you know what you want to do in life, but I suggest you motivate yourself by actively planning for the things you want to do. You're revising for your resits, don't think "Oh my god, what a bore", think about the doors that will open for you if you do well. Reward yourself for doing a good day of revision. Fixing and sticking to a routine will help you massively in being efficient in your revision and doing better in your exams and overall feeling better about your life

Hey! Im in a somewhat similar boat to you, I'm reapplying to university this year also as I started uni last year into a course that wasn't right for me and then left, missed the application cycle to go this year, now doing an involuntary gap year. So I'll be starting first year at 20. If it makes you feel any better, I haven't fulled figured out what I want to do yet, so it's great you do know and have stuck to your goals! I have also just been working to fill the time.
