Hi,

Whilst I was not classed as a mature student during my time at university, I just wanted to give you an insight into what my course was like. My course consisted of loads of varying ages and individuals, loads of them met up consistently for lunches or coffee before/after studying. It was a really common thing we all did and particularly the mature students. However, that being said the mature students on my course were more like 35-60, honestly you will not feel much of a mature student at all!!!

You will fit in so nicely and your age wont even remotely seem like a mature student, as there are loads of people have taken taken a year out, gap years, changed courses, started all over again, failed a year in college etc so there are so many reasons which naturally closes the gap. I feel like you wont overly feel like a mature student most of the time.

I know this was not a personal experience of being a mature student, but hopefully it gives you a bit of an insight, let me know if you have any further questions :smile:

Hi I'm a current Mature Student at the University of Sheffield and I'm 30. The experience is pretty good, I'm also the President and Founder of the newly formed (University of Sheffield Mature Student Society), so meeting other mature students won't be an issue here.
