Check out the higher maths website here, it carried me to my A1 in maths last year. It has every past paper for like the last 30 years, it has essential skills papers, practise questions by topic etc. It is everything you need in one place to do well in higher maths.

yeah, I'm sure things will ramp up around exam time when everyone will start stressing over it, then everyone will start asking about what people got for each question. Happens every year, presumably this one will be no different.

Uhm... TL;DR, I sat N5 maths in S3. Then between the end of S3 and start of S4, I learnt the whole Higher Maths course myself. This means I'm actually doing AH Maths rn XD

Ahh I know your type well :p:
How are you getting on in AH then? I've heard people aren't a big fan of the proofs you have to do.

"I know your type well" crazy XD
Anyway, I'm not finding it particularly difficult tbh, the proofs are easy once you understand how to just shove in numbers and variables and pray. There's definitely a lot more statements that have to be made.
The most difficult part is making sure I don't accidently get one part of my working wrong which causes the whole thing to be incorrect

Haha, just kidding around 🤣
I'd assume you want to go into something mathsy at uni then? Are you more of a pure maths type of person or do you like physics/engineering more?

Definitely more of a engineering person :>
I CANNOT STAND PURE MATHS, problem solving is fun until WHEN IT ISN'T
I've sent in my application for aeronautical/aero-mechanical engineering to 3 universities, NO WAY I'M FOCUSING ON MATHS

I dont mind the whole course tbh. I think it requires a heavy amount of time n effort, and the application of your knowledge to exam type questions. I quite like differentiation and integration. However, trig is something I dread. Especially addition formula and a bunch of other nonsense :frown:

I think most trig questions do follow a similar format, once that pattern is understood, it just becomes a matter of how quick you can actually finish the question

ooh, a maths post!! :O
this is sort of unrelated, but mathswatch was genuinely a really good resource for higher maths gcse - if your school has it
(im year 11 right now, sat the higher maths gcse in year 10 and got 99% raw mark using that),
Dr Frost maths is cool too
btw remember to revise conversions e.g. inches cm, pounds kg, because i sure didn't 😭 (lost 2 marks overall, suspected from that)

XD
Uhmm... This is the SQA Higher Maths post!!! Basically, think of it as y12 maths :P

Hey. The website Dynamic Maths is a great shout. It was a lifesaver for me at Nat 5 and has the same types of resources at Higher. I hope this helps 😊

On a side note, I can't believe I actually found myself in the maths thread. I feel so out of place.
