CV correction

I have recently finished my A-levels and have been applying to part-time jobs since the start of July, but I haven't received so much as an interview (not including the questionnaire ones that every company gives). I want to know if there is someone who knows a professional who can look at my CV for free. I am based in the DA8 area and am willing to travel up to 1 hour away.

You don't need a professional. Here is the simple way to know if your CV is hitting the mark or not. Get one of your job adverts and look for all the key words or skills they are looking for. Does your CV have any of those keywords or skills listed in the first half of the first page? If not, it is a bin job. Many CVs are vetted by AI these days and it really is as crude as looking for word matches. This is why you can no longer have one CV for lots of different jobs. Each one has to be tailored to a specific application.

You could also run it through ChatGPT with a job advert and see what it makes of it.

Good luck!

Hiya @AAO29 ,
It is important to tailor your CV for each job listing and include any relevant keywords that are relevant for the job description. It would be great to get your parents or a teacher to read through your CV and offer some advice if possible.
It also helps to reach out and ask around if you know of any other friends who have found jobs in your vicinity as they might be able to refer you in 🙂
I hope this helps.

Congratulations on finishing your A-levels, that’s a big step. You can get a free professional CV review on Instict.ai, it checks your CV instantly, gives you an ATS score, and shows how to improve your chances of getting interviews.
