Does anyone know why UCAS has said this for ABL?

I received a pop-up in my emails from my UCAS account talking about “ABL” (Award Body Linkage) and how they managed to process the Winter 2024 exam results by April.

Does anyone know what this means and why is this related to UCAS as I thought UCAS only has information for summer A-level and equivalent exams not any winter exams?

This is how UCAS gets the exam results data from awarding bodies. Quite a few qualifications can be taken across the year.

Thanks for your response. There was also something about previous results but I didn’t really understand that because it said that they were apparently processing the A-level and other results for applicants who had completed those exams in the prior year but I don’t know how true that is because I thought the only time that UCAS gets your A-level results is in the year that you do it not after.
