Official Paramedic Science Applicants Thread 2026

If you're applying to university for Paramedic Science for 2026 entry, this is the place to introduce yourself to fellow applicants, ask questions and share your experience of applying so far.

A few questions to start the conversation:

Are you applying to an undergraduate or postgraduate course?

Which universities are you hoping to apply for?

Work/shadowing experience?

Anything else?

Share as little or as much information as you are comfortable with. :yep:

Just a heads up that funding for healthcare courses and eligibility for the NHS Learning Support Fund differs based on where you normally live and where you want to study. Read the following thread before you apply:

Comparing funding for healthcare courses in England, Scotland and Wales

Please don't share details of interview questions on the forum - it gives those who follow you an unfair advantage.

Sharing or requesting social media handles or group chats is not permitted under the TSR community guidelines.

I am applying for paramedic science this year, after studying biology for a year at university that does not offer paramedic science.

I am applying for undergraduate paramedic science, I am not comfortable sharing what universities I am applying to this year and I am currently a Community First Aider with St John Ambulance to try and gain some clinical experience (I have been out on one event and haven't needed to treat anybody yet).

I am taking a year out to do this so that I can get three years of funding for the paramedic science degree

There are some tips in the following thread on preparing for healthcare interviews:

How is everyone getting on?

I have attended three interviews now (two in person, one online) and I have received an unconditional offer from one and an alternative offer of biomedical science from another. I have another interview next week and I am still waiting to hear back from the other university I have applied to

I hope everyone is doing well and please chat some more

Congrats on your offers, If you don’t mind me asking, how long after submitting your application did you hear back with interview offers? I’m still waiting to hear from a couple of unis and just curious about everyone else’s timelines. Good luck with your upcoming interview! 😄

Three of the unis I applied to got back to me within two days of applying (in mid November, they will be busier now and starting to wind down for Christmas). One took just over two weeks and I'm still waiting to hear back from the other university.

Have you heard back from any universities yet?

Hello! I’m applying for undergraduate 2026 entry at Plymouth, Swansea, UWE, and Keele. I’ve currently had offers from all except Swansea which I’ve been invited to a selection day. I was hoping to gain some further insight into the selection day if anyone has experience? Thank you

Most uni admissions department will have been closed over the Christmas break and will have only just returned to work this week. Some unis might also wait for the equal consideration deadline on January 14 now before making any decisions.

Nice ! I’ve been offered an interview for RGU but it’s a little far from me so it’s my last option, QMU is my first option
