level 3 applied science.. what can i do?

hey, ive just finished my GCSEs and picked my options for sixthform. ive picked applied science, health and social care, and travel and tourism. if anyone could give me some advice on how to achieve the highest grades in these subjects i would be very grateful.

also, im not too sure what i can do with these subjects, orignally i did want to do medicine or optometry but im not too sure. i did see that i can do radiography but im not too sure, it will be something that ill be looking further into.

any help, id be veryyy grateful! Thank you!

It depends what you want to do when you leave school, but my advice would be not to do 3 separate BTEC certificates - a single subject BTEC Extended Diploma would be a far better choice and leave many more doors open to you.

For Optometry you will need science A levels. A single certificate in Applied Science is essentially useless as a science qualification as it has so little core science contact. You do need to be realistic - Optometry is a hefty professional clinical-science degree and a demanding career. There are other ways of working in this area such as an apprenticeship but the jobs they lead to are not clinical-professional - example Apprenticeships at Specsavers | Specsavers UK Careers

I agree with the advice from McGinger. You need to consider taking the BTEC Extended Diploma in applied science to meet the entry requirements for a diagnostics radiography degree. If not, you would need to have a science A level.

I’ve done BTEC applied science level 3 extended diploma and if you want to pursue anything in healthcare you need to be doing the applied science extended diploma to be accepted. For example radiography in city or St George university requires DDM in BTEC applied science.
