Hi Guys!
I’ve just applied to study Pharmacy (MPharm) at Bath, Cardiff, UCL, Leicester and Swansea- I was just wondering how long it usually takes to get interview invites back from them. I applied yesterday, and already have a Cardiff interview, so also any tips about how to prepare for interview (especially the chemistry and maths aspects) would be greatly appreciated, thanks so much!
I applied for Newcastle, Bradford, uclan, LJMU and Huddersfield only two weeks ago and i have received interviews for all apart from Huddersfield as i've not heard back from them yet. I think all Uni's are different most interview in January but i have my Bradford interview next week.

Yeah I had their interview yesterday and it was so easy. The interviewer was lovely and the scenario questions were common sense,

hi- what do you think about Cardiff?

I had my cardiff interview last year and it was very very chill - interviewer was so lovely and general questions were asked.

Hi,

This really depends on individual universities, as some send out interview invites early while others prefer to wait until after the January UCAS deadline. Regardless, all applicants are given equal consideration until then, so try not to worry if you don’t hear back straight away.

For chemistry, it’s a good idea to review organic chemistry, particularly the chemical structures of drugs, and practice identifying key functional groups. Revisiting topics like acids and bases and hydrolysis can also be helpful.

For maths, focus on basic pharmaceutical calculations, including drug dosages, conversions, concentrations, and dilutions.

Hope this helps, and good luck!

Hi there!

I can say from my own experience that I submitted my UCAS application quite early on and I didn't hear back from Bath until around March time to confirm that I was invited to interview and most of my friends heard quite late on as well. I would not stress about not hearing back from them yet and focus on your A-levels as the grades are most important.

For the interviews, there are many resources on The StudentRoom which have been collated together. For me personally I searched online for some basic pharmaceutical maths questions and reviewed my chemistry note. Please remember the questions they ask you aren't supposed to be too difficult but how you are able to critically think. I would have a look at the GPhC Standards for Pharmacy professionals and maybe pick a few and show how you have demonstrated it already

I hope this helps and good luck with your applications!

i don’t think we can actually share the questions - seen smth said somewhere abt not being allowed to, but it is just the generic stuff that you can expect and then (like in the email) you watch a video and talk abt that

I did! Personally, I found that Uni of Nottingham interview was so much more professional and stressful compared to my other ones (Uni of Manchester, LJMU and Keele Uni) which felt more relaxed. They do like MMIs so you speak to multiple interviewers and I thought I completely failed since I messed up in the maths/chemistry knowledge station however I still received an offer so I guess my answers for the other stations helped.
