I did! Personally, I found that Uni of Nottingham interview was so much more professional and stressful compared to my other ones (Uni of Manchester, LJMU and Keele Uni) which felt more relaxed. They do like MMIs so you speak to multiple interviewers and I thought I completely failed since I messed up in the maths/chemistry knowledge station however I still received an offer so I guess my answers for the other stations helped.

I'm so glad you recieved an offer!! For the chemistry and maths questions, were they difficult? I had other interviews and they were so chill but I heard some things about how hard Nottingham interviews are so that's what's stressing me out.

It's embarrassing to admit but I could only answer 2 of their questions, I don't know if it was just the stress in the moment added with the timed conditions or if I just genuinely didn't understand the question but I did struggle. I am sure however you won't find it too bad. The only other interview so far where I had to show my maths knowledge was LJMU and their question wasn't bad and I understood and answered it fine.

I bet you didn't do bad if you got an offer so don't worry about it. I did 3 other interviews and none of them asked me anything chemistry or maths related so Nottingham is my first.

Nope, I'm hoping for my first choice to be Uni of Liverpool. They don't start interviews until January time though so still waiting for them, they're the only uni I am still waiting for. How about you?

My first choice would probably be Newcastle. I did their interview last week and they said they might take up to a MONTH to reply back so I'm still waiting. I'm also considering Keele. I still can't decide tho.

Really? They told me last week that they are quite busy so it will take up to a month. I certainly hope they respond before that tho. Was your interview recent?

I'm not trying to deter you from Liverpool, but I think you should know this about them. It isn't currently accredited but is in the process of being accredited. Without accreditation, you can not practise pharmacy in the UK, so I just want to let you know about it.

"The University of Liverpool is working towards accreditation of this programme with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC). The programme will be provisionally accredited until the accreditation process is complete. Upon graduating with your MPharm degree from the University of Liverpool, you’ll need to complete a mandatory 12-month structured foundation training period and assessment to register as a pharmacist with the GPhC."

I don't think this will be a problem for Liverpool as it already runs a range of healthcare/med courses that have been accredited.

Hi, do not worry, I have already asked the lecturers there about this and according to them it will not affect anything since they are provisionally accredited. It's a 7 year process to become accredited and there are other unis who are also in this process of receiving accreditation but have still had students graduate from them if I am not mistaken. Please correct me if I am wrong about this but this is what they told me.

isn’t the foundation training year and exam also mandatory for all pharmacists to register? like i swear it doesn’t matter whether it’s accredited or not, u have to do them regardless in order to become a GPhC registered pharmacist

Reply 75

Yes! I thought so too, it's mandatory for all aspiring pharmacists in the UK.

Hi there!

After completing the MPharm degree at university, you are not a qualified pharmacist yet. There is foundation year which you must complete 52 weeks of training and then you're eligible to complete the GPhC exam in which you pass to then become a fully qualified pharmacist. Yes so as long as you do your oriel exam at the beginning of 4th year, then you are able to choose where you would like to go on your foundation training.

I hope this helps 😊
