Is it ok to drop an Alevel the day school starts?

I’m starting yr 12 in September, and I decided a month ago( with careful consideration w/ my parents ofc) to drop my fifth a level subject. I haven’t told the school yet because my mum told me I needed to speak with my DOS first. I think the school might have already added my dropped subject in my timetable, so when do I tell them?
For context, my a level subjects are math fm chem physics, and I dropped English lit.

Hey, my college gave us 6 weeks at the start of year 12 to decide whether the subjects we chose are the right ones for us and gave us the option to drop if needed. I was easily able to drop and change one of my subject. Might vary for different colleges, but if you’re thinking of doing this on first day I don’t see any reason for your college to disagree.

If you want you can email them before college starts so you don’t have to get into the chaos of new timetables, classes etc.

You would normally have 6 weeks I would try the course first if you don't like it change it

Most schools are flexible - the timetable has nothing to do with this - give that subject at least a week before you make any decision and then talk to your Head of Sixth or similar
