Undergraduate first year accommodation - London
Hi,
I'm an upcoming undergraduate first year at the university of London but i've been a bit conflicted regarding the costs of accommodation from the university itself compared to private
I've applied for the en-suite accommodation more specifically the cubar apartments, though i've heard good things about them I'm still a bit worried about the value of my money when it comes to it, especially considering i've been seeing better deals online when it comes to private accommodations or studios with almost the same price or even lower than the 195pw university accommodation.
Whilst i have tried to reason with myself under the pretext of it being more social and closer to the university among other benefits and convenience,

Make sure you check if the rent for the private accom include utilities (water, electricity, internet). This is always included in the rent price for uni accom but with private you may have to pay them separately so even if it seems cheaper it may end up being more expensive. Also unis tend to have more leeway with rent payments if you student finance hasn't come in etc, or if you decide you want to move out/leave the uni it may be more difficult to get out of your contract in private accommodation.
