will these GCSE results be enough to get me into the london unis (UCL, Imperial, LSE)

i want to do economics at either three of those listed london unis but i feel like i didn’t do well enough in my gcses for their standards.

i got 99999888887

with two 9s and two 8s in my chosen a level subjects with economics being an 8

i was aiming for eight 9s but i feel like a failure since i only got five and three subjects being close 9s and economics was on of them. (by close 9s i mean within 5 marks so i feel like i’ve really messed up because i was so close)

can anyone offer any advice?

GCSEs are irrelevant to most universities; A-Levels are much more important. Your grades are very good and I doubt that they will prevent you from going to any of those London universities.

8s and 9s are rarely viewed as distinguishable by unis, they recognise it as a top grade that are often marks apart. As a perfectionist myself, I recognise the frustration, but it is absolutely nothing to worry over. Taking four A-Levels will be stressful enough, try not to take it as knock to your confidence and get stuck in during sixth form!

At this stage focus on your alevels and any admission test your chosen course as they will demonstrate to uni true and recent reflection of your academic abilities
